New Year's Eve on the Cote d'Azur:  Nice, France 2019

The coast of southern France--the Cote d'Azur--is home to such chic Mediterranean ports as Marseilles, Cannes ( Cannes Film Festival) and, of course, the capital of the French Riviera, Nice, which will serve as our lovely base for the six nights during this marvelous week-long New Year's Eve in Nice, France extravaganza.  Having traveled throughout the Mediterranean with countless ArawjoTours groups, I can tell you without equivocation that Nice is one of my favorite destinations.  The beaches are beautiful, the food is delicious (dining in the Old Quarter is wonderful!), and the people-watching along the four mile stretch of the Promenade des Anglais, lined with palm trees and flowers, is out of this world.  Moreover, Nice is situated within easy access by local train, car or bus to other beautiful towns and villages along the Cote d'Azur and in the charming countryside of Provence. For example, Monte Carlo, Cannes and Sospel (a fantastic Alpine village) are each only thirty minutes away by train, Villefranche sur Mer (a small, picturesque seaside settlement) is only fifteen minutes away, and Avignon, the seat of the papacy for a short time in the middle ages, is only a few hours away.  In short, everything worth seeing in southern France is more or less at your fingertips from Nice. Our stay in Nice will include a half day tour of the city itself along with a full day excursion to St. Paul de Vence and Eze, both of which are incredibly quaint hilltop towns in Provence famous for their cobblestone streets filled with restaurants, cafes, boutiques and art galleries and for their breathtaking views of the mountains and sea.  Once in Nice, you will easily see why people from all over the world flock here to relax and to take in the abundance of sunshine each year (on average 300 days per year!).

On New Year's Eve you can enjoy a dinner at one of the city's many top-notch restaurants, listen to live music at various venues while strolling along the coast and enjoy the fireworks as they ignite the sky above the Azur Sea.  Sign up now for our first ever visit to Nice over the Holiday Season, as it is bound to be one of our most exciting and memorable Once City Wonder experiences.
