Day 1 - Departure from USA out of Newark or JFK for Amman, Jordan.

Day 2 - Arrival in Amman.  Once we land in Amman, we will be met by our full-time Jordanian tour escort who will be with us throughout our time in Jordan.  The late afternoon and evening are free to relax in this amazing city. Overnight in Amman.

Day 3 - This morning we will go on a half day sightseeing tour of Amman, the capital of Jordan.  In the afternoon, we will visit the ancient Roman site of Jerash, just outside the city.  The evening is free for leisure.  Overnight in Amman.

Day 4 - Today's adventure will take us to the remarkable dessert landscape of Wadi Rum, where you will experience some of the most dramatic natural scenery in the Middle East.  Bedouin tribes still live among the mountains and canyons of Wadi Rum in goat hair tents.  We will explore this area before continuing on to Petra.  Our evening will be spent in Petra at the Guest House by Crowne Plaza.  Enjoy your evening contemplating your remarkable surroundings.

Day 5 - Surely one of the highlights of our entire stay in Israel and Jordan, Petra will be the focus of our entire day.  Our visit will include a short horse ride to the entrance of the Siq and visits to the Beida Site and the Ain Musa.  Petra was the center of the Nabataean civilization, which controlled a vast trading empire in the ancient Near East.  The tombs and temples of Petra are among some of the greatest wonders of the world.  We will spend another night in this incredible region of southern Jordan.

Day 6 - Following breakfast at our hotel in Petra, we will head to Madaba to visit the famous Madaba mosaic map.  Housed in the Church of St. George, the Madaba Map is a 6th Century A.D. depiction of the Holy Land and Jerusalem.  It is the oldest surviving depiction of these regions.  We will also visit the presumed death and burial place of Moses at the Mount Nebo Monastery before continuing on to the Dead Sea, where we will spend the night.  You can take a swim in the Dead Sea and relax in the beauty of your surroundings at the Movenpick Resort and Spa.

Day 7 - After breakfast at our hotel at the Dead Sea, we say farewell to our tour escort and leave Jordan for Israel.  We will cross the Allenby Bridge and meet our Israeli full-time tour escort who will then take us to Jerusalem, where we will settle in for the next four nights.  In the afternoon, we do a little sightseeing, including a view of Mount Zion and a visit to the Oriental Bazaar.  Get a good night's rest and be ready for a full day's adventure tomorrow.

Day 8 - After a hearty breakfast at our hotel, we will spend the day in Jerusalem, visiting such highlights as the Via Dolorosa, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Western Wailing Wall and Ophel, King David's Tomb on Mt. Zion, the 12 Windows of Chagall and the Cenaculum Hall of the Last Summer.  This day will truly be one of the most memorable of the entire tour.  In the evening, go out shopping and or dining in this vibrant ancient city.

Day 9 - Today we have a half day sightseeing tour that will take us to the Temple Mount, where we will visit the El Aqsa Mosque and the famous Dome of the Rock.  We will also visit the Yad Vashem (Holocaust Museum) and the picturesque village of Ein Karem, the birthplace of John the Baptist.  You may enjoy a free afternoon or choose to participate in a visit to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem in the West Bank. (The optional tour to Bethlehem will also include stops at Rachel's Tomb, the Grotto of Milk Chapel and the Shepherds' Fields.) The evening is free for leisure.

Day 10 - After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a full day free in Jerusalem.  Tomorrow we continue our trek through Israel.  Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 11 - This morning we will drive to Tiberias along the Sea of Galilee to visit the Mount of Beatitudes followed by a trip to Capernaum, where Jesus spent a number of years preaching. In Capernaum we will visit St. Peter's Church and the remains of his house along with the reconstructed Jewish synagogue dating to the 4th century.  Lastly, we will go the the Yardenit, which is the traditional baptismal site on the Jordan River, where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.  After our sightseeing in Galilee, we will drive to Haifa, where we will spend the night.  A three course lunch is included in today's tour.

Day 12 - After breakfast, we begin our day with a visit to Mount Carmel for one of the most spectacular views of Haifa.  We will then visit the Carmelite Monastery of Muhraqa and the Bahai Shrine and Temple before proceeding on to Tel Aviv.  En route to Tel Aviv, we will stop and explore the archaeological site of Caesarea, which was the seat of the Roman procurators in Judaea in the 1st century AD.  In the late afternoon, we will arrive in Tel Aviv, where we will spend the final two nights of our journey.

Day 13 - Today is our last day in Israel.  We will have a leisurely half day tour of the Old City of Jaffa, the oldest port in the world.  We will visit the artist's quarter and the clock tower before moving on to the Carmel Market.  The afternoon and evening are free for leisure.  Overnight in Tel Aviv.

Day 14 - This morning we will be transferred to the airport for our return journey to the United States.  We are confident that you will return to America with fond memories of your trip to the Holy Land and Jordan.
