Scenic Fjords of Norway 2025

DAILY ITINERARY:

Day 1 - Overnight flight from Newark or JFK to Oslo, Norway.

Day 2 - Arrival in Oslo.  Upon arrival, transfer to the charming town of Lillehammer, the location for the 1994 Winter Olympics. You will have time to explore Lillehammer this afternoon.
Overnight in Lillehammer.

Day 3 - After breakfast we will travel to Aalesund through the Gudbranddal Valley and along the shores of scenic Romdals Fjord with a magnificent panorama of the snow-capped peaks of the Romsdal Mountains. We will continue along the Stor Fjord before arriving in Aalesund, which is often called the "Venice of the North".  The afternoon is free to enjoy this charming town on your own.  Overnight in Aalesund.

Day 4 - We will leave Aalesund and enjoy the spectacular views as we travel to Geiranger via National Scenic road of Trollstigen and Ørnevegen (the Eagle Road). This is the name given to the steepest stretch of road up the mountain side from Geiranger towards Eidsdal on the road rv. 63. Take a short ferry ride from Linge to Eisda and descend the road as it turns through 11 hairpin bends up from the Geirangerfjord to the highest point 620 meters above sea level. Stop to admire the breathtaking views at the Eagle Road viewpoint. Continue to your hotel.

Day 5 - Walk across the street from your hotel to visit the Fjord Center. Then take an easy walk down the path to the village center of Geiranger. Depart for 1.5 hrs cruise on the world famous Geiranger Fjord. The fjord has recently been listed in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Enjoy the balance of the day free at leisure. Overnight in Geiranger

Day 6 - Depart Geiranger and drive up to Dalsnibba view point, Europe’s highest fjord view from a road. The spectacular platform, Geiranger Skywalk, guarantees you an airy experience. It is quite possibly the world’s finest view – 1500 m above sea level. Continue towards Nordfjord towards the village of Fjærland. After short ferry crossing Hella-Dragsvik and upon arrival Balestrand enjoy the local cider tasting and share the passion of the owner at the beautiful Cider House hidden in the orchard. Overnight in Balestrand

Day 7 - Depart from your hotel this morning. A short ferry crossing Dragsvik-Vangsnes and make a short photo stop at Hopperstad Stave Church. Drive over Vika mountain towards the ferry pier of Gudvangen. From there embark on a cruise on Sognefjord to Flaam. Then board the world famous Flaam Railway, ascending more than 2900 feet in less than one hour. We can then enjoy the breathtaking view over the Flaam Valley along with the thundering sound of waterfalls. We will change trains at the Myrdal Station and continue on to Voss, where we will meet our coach for a short drive to the old Hanseatic town of Bergen. Overnight in Bergen.

Day 8 -  We will begin our day with a tour of Bergen, which was for centuries the capital of Norway and the center of a trade network that went as far as Iceland, Greenland and Scotland. Included in this tour is a visit to the Schøtstuene, the assembly halls for the Hanseatic merchants in the winter. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Bergen.

Day 9 - Depart Bergen this morning and embark on one of the world’s most beautiful train journeys from Bergen to Oslo aboard the Bergen Railway. Overnight in Oslo

Day 10 - An entire day free to relax in Oslo and to conclude any last minute shopping you might have.

Day 11 - Check out of hotel and transfer with your tour escort and coach to the airport for departure. Safe travels!
